The sandpit is designed for easy access whilst maintaining the interior free from leaves and animal visits. The wooden protective cover folds out to provide two sturdy wooden bench seats. Only 21cm high to the top, the 1.2m x 1.2m square sandpit will need about 0.15 cubic meters (8 bags) of sand to fill it to a depth of 10cm. Detailed assembly instructions and all necessary fittings are provided to make construction a straightforward DIY job. However, please note that the sandpit utilises interlocking pieces which will require some drilling in situ. The correct size drill and all screws are included in the kit. Assembly time is about 1 hour.

dreadful product

This was a nightmare to put together. The rain comes in through the wooden slats in the cover and so the sand is always like porridge. I thought it looked great and liked the little seat design. My mistake. Don't follow.

My husband is a joiner but is so busy he never seemed to have the time to make a sandpit for our three young children (aged 2, 3 & 4). This seemed an ideal alternative. It took over 2 hours for him to put together. What you are supplied with is a bundle of wooden planks and a set of really poor instructions. the gaps in the lid are wide enough for little fingers to poke through and to get stuck. For this reason I strongly feel that this toy should be supplied with a warning stating its unsuitability for young children.I'm not sure if its got a safety standard certificate but i seriously doubt it. the wood started to warp within a week so the lid no longer fits properly when closed. And in agreement with the other review, the sand is always like porridge because of the rain. it does dry out quick enough on a sunny day but as any parent can imagine its like a magnet to little people when the lid is open waiting for the sun to dry out the sand-- you don't even want to think about the mess they get in! Please don't make the same mistake as me, buy a nice compact plastic sandpit with a properly moulded lid!
