fantastic piece of furniture I was amazed at the quality of the wood -amazing price and excellent delivery well packaged. Best buy I have made for a while.

Better quality than previous Willis and Gambier purchase

I wrote a rather scathing review of another Willis & Gambier piece, which suffered from poor build issues with the doors, a point also noted by another reviewer.This piece is much better quality, although does have some poor patchy finish on the lacquered top surface, which is luckily only noticeable if viewed in strong light at an angle.It looks better in the flesh than in the Amazon photo, it's a darker finish - the Amazon photo makes it looks like a light pine, rather than a darker oak.Drawers open and close smoothly generally, although the left hand drawer does tend to catch mid opening on occasion.I picked this up for under £100, so have been a bit more generous with the stars. If I'd paid closer to RRP, due to the patchy finish on the top surface, this would have been a 2/5.It's a nice solid looking piece, let down by lacquer finish which is again patchy. It matches well with the 'Talin' range, and I think having both a 'Talin' and this 'Chiltern' in one room, the Chiltern is better looking.
